Returning for its 39th edition, the Upton Jazz Festival is our May Cover Star. From 26th–28th June, the historic riverside town of Upton-upon-Severn transforms into a vibrant "Jazz City."

This year features a masterclass in variety, from the sophisticated sounds of Alan Barnes to the high-energy party vibes of the Upton Jazz Fringe.

  • The Music: 50+ performances including Traditional Jazz, Swing, Soul, and Ska.

  • The Legacy: A UK premier destination for nearly four decades, famous for the Saturday Umbrella Parade.

Venue Essentials & The Jazz Fringe

The festival takes over the entire town centre. While ticketed headline concerts are held at the Memorial Hall and the Baptist Church, the 8th Upton Jazz Fringe brings free-to-enter music to the town's historic pubs and gardens.

    • The Swan Hotel (Waterside): The official Fringe Hub for Soul and Ska.

    • The Boathouse: Riverside jazz with stunning views.

    • Tudor House Museum: Atmospheric "Garden Gigs" in a historic setting.

    • High Street Highlights: Jazz sessions at Mojitos Rum Bar, The Kings Head, and Bar Seven.

  • Catering: Upton is packed with cafes and pubs. Full licensed bars are available at major venues.

  • Tickets: Weekend passes (£68) and camping available. Over a third of tickets already SOLD!

Getting There: Directions & Parking

  • Postcode for SatNav: WR8 0JD (Town Centre).

  • Parking: Primary parking at Hanley Road (WR8 0HY). Ticket-holder camping (including parking) is located at the Riverside.

  • By Water: FREE Mooring on the town pontoon and riverside moorings.

  • By Train: Stations at Worcester Foregate Street or Malvern Link, followed by a short taxi/bus journey.
