Home to the Django In The Bay Gypsy Jazz Festival
Escape to a unique lakeside hideaway where the salt air of Rutland Water meets the syncopated pulse of the Hot Club. Surrounded by mature trees, cider apple orchards, and lush vineyards, The Hide at Manton Bay offers a tranquil, "back-to-nature" sanctuary for the Django In The Bay festival (May 22nd–24th, 2026).
Whether you are jamming until dawn in a secluded camping bay or sipping cocktails on your private deck, the venue provides a magical, vintage atmosphere. As the sun sets over the water, the site comes alive with festoon lighting, lakeside jams, and the absolute pinnacle of Manouche virtuosity.
Stargazer Lotus Belle Tents: Perched high in the cider orchard, these tents feature king-size beds and private decks with magnificent views. On clear nights, you can uncover the roof to watch the stars from your bed. Each tent includes a private garden with a fire-pit, hammock, and swing chair.
Stunning Shepherd Huts: For a touch of luxury, stay in a cozy Shepherd Hut nestled among the grapevines. These huts feature en-suite bathrooms, heating, and wood-fired hot tubs—the perfect way to unwind after a day of swing.
The Cabin & Sapphire Lodge: Premium self-contained options offering all the comforts of home with breathtaking panoramic views of the bay.
Private Camping Bays: Secluded, non-electric grass pitches separated by mature hedging for ultimate privacy. Ideal for small groups (3-4 tents) who want to share a private musical pocket of the bay.
Local Pubs: A short, scenic walk through the nature reserve takes you to The Horse and Jockey, a traditional favorite for a pint. Other nearby gems include The Finch’s Arms and The Olive Branch.
Breakfast & Bites: Rutland Nursery is just a 10-minute walk away, offering seasonal breakfast and homemade treats in a peaceful garden setting.
Nature & Discovery: Located directly on the Rutland Water cycle/footpath. Keep an eye out for the resident Barn Owls and the iconic Ospreys that nest just a short walk away.
Adults Only: To maintain its peaceful atmosphere, The Hide is an Adults Only (16+) retreat.
Off-Grid Vibe: Camping pitches are non-electric. Tents and Huts have power for lighting and charging, but the site is a true "escape" from the modern world.
Quiet Hours: Guests are asked to observe quiet hours between 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM (excluding designated festival jam areas).
Pet Policy: Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be agreed with the site in advance.
