is now up and running at ......
The Beecroft Art Gallery, Victoria Ave, Southend  SS2 6EX.
Our purpose is to promote, preserve and celebrate the vibrant culture of jazz music in the UK and beyond.  We are fully staffed in the Beecroft’s lower atrium on Thursdays and Saturdays, and if  you care to call in you can meet our friendly staff, enjoy a cup of coffee in the Jazz Cafe and view the ever growing exhibits. However our ‘'  brand-new ‘Heritage Room’ is open for all to see from Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm at the Beecroft..
We actively support and promote jazz music in every form and style as well as intergenerational educational programmes, jazz workshops and exhibitions supported by our HLF Grant.Contemporary performance and education is a central part of our artistic brief: ‘to preserve promote and celebrate jazz music in all its forms’. Our 100-seat  cinema show jazz (and blues) films every Saturday afternoon at 2pm, and on most Saturday afternoons we also present live music in the Centre. Our brand-new Media Centre – including jazz on record (from cylinder and 78 via vinyl to CD and download), multi-media presentations, jazz on film and public performance) will open early in 2018 and we are also opening our Centre’s brand new jazz club on Saturday January 27th with an all star performance from the pollwining Nigel Price Trio and star-saxophonist Vasilis Zenopoulus at 2pm!
