Meditation - Medication - Mediation
We’ve been tracking the gelling of the international jazz fraternity, and the 2026 Fest-Jazz line-up is proving that music is the ultimate form of 'medication' for a restless world. It's a bold statement about a global connection that transcends borders.
The French Flair: Band Details...
Crawfish Wallet: A Bordeaux-based powerhouse that blends the "siren" vocals of Amandine Cabald-Roche with an extraordinary mix of trombone and washboard. They specialize in early blues and New Orleans creole sounds—their tribute to Lizzie Miles is essential listening.

Bumpy Roof Band: Born from a desire to bring the street-spirit of New Orleans to the people. They are a high-energy "party" formation where Classic Jazz and Swing meet a spontaneous, "extreme dress code" vitality that dancers adore.

Certains L'Aiment Chaud: An incredible all-female quintet that has been championing the 1920s "hot jazz" sound since 1983. Lead by cornettist Kiki Desplat, they deliver imaginative arrangements of the masters (King Oliver, Armstrong) with an infectious "bonne humeur."

A Noble Cause: International Co-operation...
Sharing this level of talent is a noble cause, but in 2026, it requires more than just passion—it requires 'Mediation.' Navigating the mindless administrative hoops and visa hurdles for our foreign friends has become a significant challenge. At the Media Lounge, we believe that for 'Musical Medication' to truly work, it must flow freely.
By championing international co-operation, we aren't just booking bands, we are advocating for a world where the only thing crossing the border is the beat. It's time for a 'Surgical' rethink of how we support our global jazz fraternity.
