This highly popular mid-week break is an immersive, four-day festival specifically designed for lovers of Big Band Swing Music and Ballroom & Latin Dancing. The entire break is dedicated to the sensational sounds of the LPSO and its star-studded line-up of vocalists.
The 16-piece LP Swing Orchestra performs live every night of the break, delivering multiple sets of powerful, authentic Big Band music perfect for a wide range of Ballroom and Latin dances, including foxtrots, quicksteps, rumbas, and jives.
The focus is entirely on non-stop swing and world-class performances, providing music perfect for dancing every day and evening.
One evening is dedicated to a stellar performance from a headlining guest. For this break, expect a special performance featuring the vocal talents of the celebrated Shane Hampshier.
The orchestra breaks down into a smaller, intimate 7-piece ensemble (The Matt Ford Quartet) for relaxed lunchtime gigs. This features traditional and mainstream jazz standards, often taking requests, and providing a relaxed backdrop to your meal.
Dedicated afternoon sessions for social dancing, featuring the perfect tempos for practicing your steps. These sessions are usually led by the quartet with singers Matt Ford and Julia Sullivan.
Informal morning sessions, such as solo piano performances by a member of the orchestra (e.g., Bunny Thompson), or "An Audience With..." session where the bandleader, Joe Pettitt, interviews a key band member or guest artist, offering a fascinating look behind the scenes.
