OUR MUSICIANS BIOGRAPHIES

Pete Allen
PETE ALLEN has been described as one of Britain’s most exciting jazz clarinettists. He has been leading his own band since 1978 and tours the UK and abroad playing hundreds of concerts and festivals with his slick delivery of jazz and songs. From the late seventies his band were a regular feature on Television / Radio and Pete has released over 100 albums. In 1992 he was awarded an Honorary Citizen of New Orleans USA.

Enrico Tomasso
Dick Hawdon taught Enrico from six with Louis Armstrong a favourite. After college in Leeds, then the Guildhall, Enrico moved to London joining the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, a 1920s/1930s-style band before joining Ray Gelato's band.  Enrico turned to freelance and also played in Acker Bilk's band. His styles include Swing and Dixieland but has also discovered Miles Davis, Clifford Brown and fusion Jazz.

Richie Bryant
Richie, on drums, has played with the best of British Jazz including Terry Lightfoot and his Jazzmen, Stan Grieg, Brian Lemon and Dave Shepherd including BBC Jazz stations. In 1972, Richie joined Acker Bilk and the Paramount Jazz Band playing to worldwide audiences. He has played more recently with Jamie Cullum and currently with the Pete Allen Jazz Band.

Susan Valliant-Speer
Born in San Francisco, Susan has been singing jazz since graduation from the University of Oregon.  She started with the Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band in Seattle, playing Jazz festivals in the USA and Canada. One of her greatest honours was singing for President Bill Clinton and has also performed for President Jimmy Carter. Susan works with Pete Allen and has her own monthly show on BBC Radio Northampton.  

Andy Dickens
Andy Dickens is a freelance jazz trumpeter who plays swing, mainstream, Dixieland and New Orleans Jazz. A frequent guest at European jazz festivals, he has played with many English and American notables including Slim Gaillard; Ken Peplowski; Franz Jackson;  Jason Marsalis; Humphrey Littleton; Terry Lightfoot; Clark Tracey; Bruce Turner; Jools Holland; David Newton; Pete King and Peter Ind.

James Clemas
"Pianist/Singer James Clemas works throughout the UK and abroad as a solo artist or with some of  the UK’s best Jazz, Soul, Rock and Funk acts. Born and raised in Northampton, he played in in many bands throughout the Midlands and was a member of the Northamptonshire County Youth Big Band. He now gigs with Pete Allen, Greg Abate, Roy Williams and Dave O'Higgins touring extensively.

James Hanratty
David Hanratty (BAHons) started playing the bass at 12 years of age and it very quickly became his passion. Academically, he holds a Degree in music from Manchester. Whilst there, he played with many artists including numerous sessions for the BBC. After returning to the south, he focused on his Jazz and now works with some of the greatest names in British Jazz.

Sean Moyses
Classics by Brahms or Mozart, duelling banjos, romantic songs, gentle picking with Sean performing globally and plays the best banjos by Pietsch Banjos.

£250 includes two nights dinner/bed/breakfast, all that jazz and breakfast
or, come for the evening at £35 per person includes dinner and entertainment
